Yes Zoe’s room is done. Which started off as a project with the SARS refund turned into a major project with multiple pinned pictures on Pinterest and even some changes in our bedroom!
I must apologise – I have now idea why the pictures are so small.
It all started when I said I’ll paint the room myself. After pulling the plaster of one wall and basically amputating my finger, Hubby took over and the walls, ceiling, cupboards and door were painted.
This is her bedroom during the renovations – I forgot to take a picture before I took the curtains off:
This is Zoe “helping” during the paint process. It was a gigantic mess – but she enjoyed it so much. And luckily the carpets were replaced.
During the work we realised that there is not enough space on Zoe’s single bed for her and Jack – yes Jack has decided to sleep with Zoe on her tiny little bed all night long. So we decided to move our double bed into her room. Can a dog be happier?
The dirt under the carpets, once it was lifted – how incredibly gross is that?
And then because Zoe now had our bed, we had to buy a new bed. Hubby is quite tall so we ended up buying a King size, extra long bed! That is Zoe on the bed – it is like a ship! Finding bed linen for it is not easy!
And then finally we could hang the curtains this weekend and stick the wall tattoo on. The “bench” in front of the curtains aren’t done yet – I still want to upholster some sponge but that will have to wait a bit, I can’t spend any more money.
I must admit that the room is a bit bright for my taste but I have to remind myself the whole time that this is not for me but for a little girl.
So now we just have to paint the other bedroom – that is now a room with an identity crisis – it has a desk in for Zoe to do her homework, a treadmill, Zoe’s old single bed and all her toys. I don’t quite know how we are going to pull all of that together but that is a problem for another day.
