Comrades aftermath and other news

Firstly – let me show you my medal as well as what I looked like in Pinetown – about 22km’s into the run. It seems although I’m a really fresh looking, happy runner. Spectators on the road even commented on it – telling me I’m looking fresh and not even sweating – well look are deceiving. Ohh by the way – I’m the one with the red vest on the pavement, in case you were wondering! ๐Ÿ™‚

And then people keep on asking me how I feel. On Monday after Comrades Hubby and myself actually went for a long walk on the promenade in Durban – and I was fine, my fat rolls on my waist was a bit sore but I was walking normally. The worst of my injuries seems to be my soft palette, it was feeling raw and sore, anything I ate or drank or sucking on a straw was really bad. Then sitting in the car for 6 hours on Monday afternoon did make me stiff and then sleeping for 8 hours, so I was stiff on Tuesday but after about 5 minutes of walking around I would be fine again.

And then on Friday afternoon the tiredness hit me like a ton of bricks – I was in a restaurant and all of a sudden I could feel myself droop and getting more and more tired. So I had a lot of snoozes under the blanket on the couch over the weekend and I must be honest I feel absolutely 100% now.

I was actually thinking of going for a run yesterday but I know that will be foolhardy.

Running Comrades does get easier the more you do it…

And then onto other stuff.

For you bookworms – have you looked at the website called bookbub – it gives you the latest deals on cheap or free books on Amazon – obviously not the best sellers but nice little filler books between the intellectual tomes that I submit myself to every now and again.

I just read a BBM, I’ve send my mom – goodness autocorrect does teach you to read between the lines. And why do we send each other BBM’s if we both have IPhones?

Zoe is in the midst of tests – we got two back and she didn’t do too badly – if I can just get her to concentrate more – she make such silly mistakes. But hopefully that will sort itself out later on.

Our phonelines were suspended by Telkom on Monday morning – gosh what a mission to get it back to work. I under estimated our actual cost and didn’t pay enough. Kind of a catch 22 situation – phones not working so I can’t do an EFT because the lines are down so they can’t put our service back… At least that has now been sorted.

Have a wonderful day – better get some work done now…

Oooh, stiffness. I can relate, but mine is just old age, haha. Glad you are feeling yourself again.

I am amazed that you Comrades runners aren’t flat on your backs for days after that race!! Testament to your strength and fitness ๐Ÿ™‚

Good luck to Zoe with all her tests …

The BBM-ing on your iPhones comment made me chuckle! ๐Ÿ˜€

I am totally in awe of you Comrades runners ! Well done. I find with A that mostly she seem to make silly mistakes because she for instance did not read the question well enough and just went on answering. I am sure experience will help with this

You look amazing! I really hope I manage to be as smiley as you are in my photos, one day! Well done, hope the palate is better soon, try gargling with some salt water? And take some extra vitamin B. The local comrades runners were out with us this morning again, phew!

You are my inspiration. I was busy exercising and I was tired and I wanted to stop. Then I thought to myself, RM just tab the comrades, time for me so complaining and just do what I need to.
